How to join us

Hello and welcome to Stainland Lions... well almost! Hopefully you’re eager to join, so this is how to get started. If you have access to a printer, download, print and fully complete the Application form (in BLOCK CAPITALS please) and hand it to a member of the club Committee together with the following two forms of identification:

• Confirmation of Name: Driving Licence containing a photo or a valid passport

• Confirmation of Address: Bank/credit card statement or recent utility bill

Please bring original documents as photocopies will not be accepted, along with your money or a cheque made payable to ‘Stainland Lions Running Club’.

If you don’t know what any of the committee members look like just take a peek on the Committee Page, or ask someone at the club.

The best opportunity to do this would be on a Thursday evening, the main meeting night at Heath. If you approach someone before the run we can arrange to meet afterwards, possibly in the clubhouse. It’s much easier for these documents to be completed and checked indoors [Plus the bar is open for rehydration should you wish!]

If you have any questions or concerns at all about the above process, please contact a Committee member as soon as possible. You’ll find links to our e-mail addresses on the Contacts Page – simple click on a picture and drop one of us a line.

We're sure you’ll enjoy being a member of Stainland Lions, we wish you every success with your running and that you have a long and happy time with us.

Many thanks,

The Committee, Stainland Lions Running Club

Memberships Explained

Full membership: Provides first claim membership with our club, registered with England Athletics (EA) for Road, Fell, Trail & Cross Country races. Also gives 'attached' status when entering EA events which usually means a reduced race entry fee.  Other benefits of EA membership are third-party insurance when training with the club and entry into the club's annual draw for guaranteed London Marathon places. Membership runs from 1st April to 31st March.

Second Claim membership: For example, where a runner may be a first claim member of a fell running club and registered with the FRA, but wishes to join us for cross-country and the occasional road or trail race for which they also need to be EA registered.

January New Members: Members that join between January and March are given an additional 3 months membership for the same price due to EA’s membership year. Membership will run until 31st March the following year.

Social membership: Typically a non-running partner who wishes to join in with our social life, but thinks running is mad!
